The BTEC 150 Introduction to Google Applications is a course designed to introduce the available Google Applications and their features to be used both personally and in a business environment. Subjects that are covered include web-based communication, locational tools, media, and collaboration. The goal is for students to use web-based tools to be able to create and manage a Google site. There are no required textbooks to purchase and best of all, the course is 1-3 credits so the student can select how many credits they wish to complete.
Personally, I do not have any experience with this course so I have not taken it. However, I am an avid person in designing websites and working with Google Applications. In my opinion, I would recommend that students interested in Business or Web Design take this course. This is because they are very helpful tools to have and as someone who is currently taking a different web design course it really helps in learning more about the specific application and its available features. Having the ability to design a website is a great benefit both as an individual and for businesses as a website will bring in traffic for the product being advertised. This is a great way of building brand awareness and consumer trust because it grants the consumer a way to connect to the business or individual on a personal level while getting to know more about them. This results in a consumer dedicated to a certain brand or business while they tell their friends, family, and co-workers about said brand drawing in additional attention essentially becoming free advertising through word of mouth.
Business and even personal use will benefit from being able to use Google Applications to their fullest extent. This cuts down on the time that the business has to dedicate to the person to either teach them how to use the software or burning hours waiting for the person to self-learn through experience with the software. Taking the time to learn these skills ahead of time in a college environment will benefit the individual in the long run as they will already have these tools equipped for future reference and is great to add to a resume.

I have taken this course and it was very valuable. It introduced to many Google apps that I would not have otherwise known about
