Medical Terminology I: The first step to a career in medicine?

BTEC 181, also known as Medical Terminology I, is a high-level Business technology course available at LCC. It is a 3-credit, asynchronous online class, taught by Nadine Lemmons. In it, students learn the basics of medical terminology, from prefixes and suffixes to pronunciation and understanding of terms. An emphasis is placed on using these terms accurately to document and report patient care.

This course is an excellent stepping stone for those looking to get into the medical field but without the confusion of jumping right into a nursing program, or an even more overwhelming medical school. The course is not of much use to me, as I have never had an interest in the medical profession, however, I would highly suggest it to someone with an interest in medicine or biology.
